Starting Point
Curator Barbara Horvath organised four exhibitions for the art association Kunstverein Eisenstadt in Austria under the annual theme FEELINGS ARE FACTS.
ANGST, INTIMACY, MULTIFORM MADNESS and DOOMSCROLL deal with a spectrum of feelings that are often unpleasant.
Design solution
As many different artists were invited, it was not possible to choose a motif for communication. Therefore, the folder itself became an art object and serves as a surface for photographer Susanna Hofer, who interpreted the exhibition’s themes.
Just as feelings and thoughts perceived vaguely at first in our stimulus-saturated world, they often unfold in our consciousness over time. The folder should function in a similar way when revealing information. Piece by piece, one opens up the vague ‘feeling’ that wants to take up space with bold typography.
