Starting Point

As part of the rebranding process carried out by Zündel Branding, we were commissioned to develop a sustainable illustration style for the brand. As an energy producer, Verbund must take a clear stand on contemporary issues such as the climate crisis. The new communication strategy should be confident, with a simple ‘V’ demonstrating that Verbund wants to send a strong signal, take responsibility and assume a pioneering role.

The communication and objectives are to be supported by illustrations and pictograms. The strong aesthetics of the images are supported by illustrations, lending the brand a playful lightness.

Design solution

Complex topics should be explained simply. A straightforward illustration style avoids unnecessary embellishments and focuses on the essentials. A constantly expandable illustration kit and rules facilitate quick image creation. The individual elements can be combined and linked to tell self-explanatory stories. The brand’s colours are based on a strong contrast between blue and white, which provides the colour scheme for the new Verbund world.
