Starting Point
As part of the rebranding process carried out by Zündel Branding, we were commissioned to develop a cohesive set of pictograms for the brand. Previously, various internal departments had used icons from past years or freely available images in differing styles. A key goal of the rebranding was to help the communication department reclaim its leading role in ensuring a consistent visual identity for the brand.
Design solution
Like the wheel, icons cannot be reinvented, but what remains is to find an individual design language that fits the brand’s new DNA. Corners and straight lines as well as circles and curves are derived from the VERBUND logo. The contour-style pictograms create a lighter look and thus support the text without being overly conspicuous.
